There has been a recent increase in the number of mobile phone numbers being posted up on the forums. These numbers have been removed already but I want to advise on why they should not be posted in the forums publicly.
The first problem with posting anything on these forums is by their nature they are very public. This means that all members of the community will have access to this information which is most likely not a big problem, but may come with the problem of getting a lot of calls you may not want. But there is also a second group of people who will have access to these numbers who may be less then savory.
These people will include scammers, criminals, stalkers or worse. For this reason and your own safety it is really not a good idea to post a mobile number on the forums and if one is posted our staff will remove them when seen for your own safety.
I can understand wanting to give people attending meets etc a way to contact you but I would advise only...
You remember that feature where you can watch a thread and get updates on things you like to keep track of?
Yeah, that one.
Well, you can now do this on a forum-wide level. So, if you're an artist, you click this button here...
...and then you'll get a pop-up that will give you options like this...
As you can see, you can choose whether you want updates when new threads are created, or for every message that is submitted. You can then also choose if you'd like those updates to come to your email inbox, or just on the site as alerts. If you have created watch preferences, you can make changes to your watch subscriptions by going to this page here.
We'd love to hear any feedback you have on this feature in the replies below.
At some point today (I don't know exactly when - I was at work), we breached 100,000 Posts. As I've been rather busy as of late, I haven't prepared anything flash to show you for this most modest achievement.
Because we have now hit 100,000, we now join the leagues of the "bigger boards". With our very sensible member count, it means that a small collection of very loyal members are responsible for significant contributions to much of the site's content.
As a token of our appreciation, we have started looking at ways we can better recognise (and reward) our members - the site already awards Trophies for reaching certain milestones, and they help keep track of your own personal achievements on the board. But we are also looking at a way of recognising the "stars" of our cosy-but-growing community - a community you have, for the most part, shaped through a collective effort.
Thanks for making this place great - you have all helped...
Well guys, you've done it. You've all hit the first relatively big milestone. You've all proved that there are more Bronies on our little island than we ever thought possible.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and so, courtesy of Silvarrn, I present this....
