Further Update Time!

Because the mane seems to be the big stumbling block that's holding everything else up (without the mane I can't really proportion and place the eyes and i can't do the helmet) I've been on a little MSPaint adventure.

Here we have Manestyle A: This is the one I was likely to go for originally as it's straightforward and met the description ok'd by those upstairs.


Manestyle B: This one is based on my interpretation of how Britty appears on the T-shirt and also how her eyes may look in proportion (ignore my scruffy Paint skills, I had to mouse ball it)

As always, feedback and opinions appreciated. I'll probably be using Paint for any future rough concept stuff now that the plushy body is complete.

I quite like Mane style B. Be nice to see a bit of fringe poking from under the helm.
Consistency with the shirt seems a good idea to go on.

I really like style B, i think it'll look much better with the helm.

Moar Update!

I managed to get hold of some jewels for her Cutie Mark and seeing as that's one area I'm not restricted by further Manestyling I thought I'd get started.

Here we have a wide selection of colours along the red, white & blue spectrum as well as some hearts for the pin. Now I've already used Red & Ice Blue for the jewels as they correspond with colours she already has. But we have an assortment so, any thoughts?

The hearts are the wrong colour (looked more pink in the shop) but I'd be curious what should work here, red like a fire ruby, white like a diamond or something like a pink or magenta.

In all seriousness it looks splendid in situ on her flank. I'm glad the decision was made to go with the bling option.
I think the heart should be ruby coloured given that the last jewel on the top of bomb is sapphire. Rounds of the pattern if you get what I mean.

Here's another idea I had to combine the two Mane-dos that I'm toying between. It's just an idea but thought I'd stick it up here as well (sorry about the quality, I did it on a scrap of paper during my lunch break)

Now that's a smart idea. Would be good to stop the helm from coming loose during battle hugs.

Well it's more like a step by step with 1 being how it would look with her hair down and how it could be tied up. It's not the clearest diagram but I can press ahead if you like this design.

Also, thoughts on the cutie mark and its heart. Design & colours look alright? Should I do a red, white/clear or a dark pink heart?

During my lunchbreak at work today I popped into Chesterfield Town Centre where a little antique & flea market was going on (no fleas for sale as far as I could tell). I mostly went to get hold of some more thread and to track down some heart shaped jewels for the Cutie Mark (got some red ones which I think will do the job well). But as i've been keeping an eye out for brooches or clasps for Britty's cloak I decided to peruse the stalls.

There were quite a number around, some of which a nice plain gold much like the one she's wearing in the majority of pictures. I was about to get one when I happened to see this:

Apologies for the poor photo but what we have here is a gold brooch with costume diamonds and ruby decoration: the perfect colours that are reminiscent of a Tudor rose or the red crosses on the Union flag. So I thought to myself, may be a tad off-model but it's unique and pretty and will hopefully give her a perfect cloak clasp.

As awesome as Britty would look rocking the real Sovereign's Orb i don't really want to end B.U.C.K facing down armed police
