Thanks again Saturn, I can't wait to hear you on your cello... so mellow.
Anyway, people volunteer. Free entry + you get to see behind the scenes and maybe bump into the VIPs.
Don't you want to feel awesome acting as a Steward and body guarding the VIPs (or atleast the places people aren't supposed to go)?
Don't you guys want to help the VIPs as a Gopher and maybe become good friends with people like Glaze?
Why not a 1st aider and be a hero in peoples minds as you come to the rescue and go, "Stand back guys, I'm a 1st aider and know what I'm doing!" People really respect 1st aiders (trust me, I've had to deal with a few incidents IRL).

"Sketchy Sounds has been shot! WE NEED A MEDIC!"
    *first aider whoosh!*
    "Someone call for a doctor?"
    *first aid!*
    Everything is now better.
    "The convention is saved!"
    "So is Sketchy's life!"
    "But the convention!"
    "Yes, the convention!"

Doesn't this plan still hinge on the idea that Sketchy gets shot? I'm not sure he will be too happy.

So that's incorrect, or am I just slow?

As far as my understanding goes, you do not need your own ticket to apply for volunteering. If you have already purchased a ticket, it will be refunded. If you bought a 20% cooler ticket, you will be refunded the amount for a standard ticket.

The reason I had quoted the "Have Purchased a ticket for the convention" was in order to alert Saturn, that the website still says you have to purchase a ticket. All of the other requirements for the volunteers (such as you must be 18) are still in place.

I hope this clarifies the matter.

From what I have gathered some decisions about the convention has changed (probably following some kind of developments (these normally cause change)). One of these is that volunteers now have free entry and the site still needs an update.
That or it was 1am when that part of the site was written and it was just a mistake.

Oh, I didn't realise that hadn't been updated! I'll do that now, thanks for pointing it out!

    Do you still accept volunteers?
    Do you accept foreign volunteers?

As far as I know, yes they are still recruiting.
Unfortunatly, I don't know the answer to this. I would imagine they would be okay with foreign volunteers, but then again depending on what insurance coverage they have, they might not be able to. As long as you fit all the other criteria, I should imagine you would be fine. Don't take my word as the truth though, as I am not part of the BUCK staff.

Unfortunately, due to the hosting costs, I won't be able to make it.
I'm still looking into various options for that, but it's a bit rough.

If you don't mind hostels such as Aston House (shared dorms)... they start at about £25 a night, or alternatively Weston Hall (student halls of residence with individual single rooms) are available during the summer period from £29 a night.

Too bad I can't go there, but BUCK sounds really amazing. How many ponies will be there?
Is there anything that I'll miss?

I have sent out emails to all volunteers today. Please check your email as it is a confirmation that includes information on how to book your Crew ticket.

We still need some volunteers to act as gofers. Please apply if you feel you can commit to giving your time to the convention. Crew are expected to work 50% of the time, the rest is yours to do with as you wish. It is free to volunteer. If you have already bought a ticket, we will refund it up to the cost of a Standard ticket. Crew are allowed to attend the Party.

I hate to be a pain, but I never got an email. Saturn did confirm I was on the list as a volunteer. My email address might be incorrect on the emailing list or something. Shall I PM you my contact info?
