All I can say is practice really. I experiment with techniques and styles and I was drawing manga styled characters for years before ponies came into my life.

New OC

Diere is a unicorn that has a talent for Illusion magic, her main spell makes her look like an alicorn to all others and she constantly uses it and pretends to be an alicorn that can summon wild beasts at her side just so she can claim attention. Though her biggest flaw is that if someone noticed that the spell she was using was an illusion then it wouldn't work on them since her spells need the target to not be aware.

New OC Herba. An alicorn that got lost at birth, he ended up getting into the everfree forest where he damaged his horn and ended up getting raised by two unicorns. He has the same magical power as a normal unicorn and his wings are useless and binded by bandages.
His talent is magic that makes plants grow.

Getting slower at uploads due to college and the lack of ideas. Recently though I've been into two projects. The filly mane 6 which I've nearly completed and I've been genderbending a few OC.
Here's Spiritum who's the genderbend of Spectral. She needs a bit of tweaking then a quick scan.

Sunny Daze is a mare with a talent for growing sunflowers, though she often forgets anything that isn't to do with gardening so she isn't the first pony anyone would go to when they need something doing
