on another note.. if she would be a boss.. i'd think her more of a hidden, secret boss or easter egg boss after beating the game or something.
i'm just sitting here watching those eyes jiggle.. and it's very amusing i might sa- wait.. look at the size of his wi- oh dear lord.. cannot unsee..

I know that SF3 made Zangief a lot easier to use, the spinning pile driver was damn near impossible on SF-EX which was the previous one I played. New players/button bashers (i.e me) still do better with the quicker characters though.

There is no final boss because there is no story mode. EDIT: just checked the FAQ and there is going to be a story mode, not sure if this is a change or memory fail.

There are going to be 11 characters released as DLC after the mane 6, it's been said that these will be the most popular characters from the show, so Derpy will almost certainly appear at some point, I think PON-3 is a certain too. BASS CANNON anyone?

Apparently Derpy is going to appear in PonyKart as the mechanism for putting you back on the track when you fall down a hole/in the water.

I was never any good at Street Fighter or Tekken, but I got pretty good at SoulCalibur. I still remember one epic match I had with a friend (we could both beat the hardest AI regularly with little difficulty): I think it went for 10 minutes each round, and we had a 16-way Guard Impact rally before I broke rhythm and swept his legs out from under him. The other guys around us thought it was much more fun watching than playing themselves.

But yeah, I'm looking forward to this. Hoping I can pick up the controls and combos easily enough. And I'm totally up for a tourney, too.

Soul Cal is my favourite - it's very fluid, accessible and looks prettier than a lot of the other games. I found it much easier to pick up and play against people who'd had some practice.

11 extra characters confirmed, the dev team has said it will be "the most popular characters from the show" or some such phrasing and that which characters would be included was decided before S2 ran. So unless this changes assume no S2 characters. My guess:

1.) Derpy
2.) Vinyl Scratch
3.) Trixie
4.) Luna / NM Moon
5.) Celestia
6.) Big Mac
7.) Lyra
8.) Spitfire
9 -11) CMC (or 3 together leaving 2 spaces)

Big Mac will definitely be in it. They've promised a grappler, and can you honestly see any other S1 character being good as a grappler?

Yeah I think thats a certain.

Shame there are a lot of S2 characters I'd like to see - Shining Armour, Chrysalis, Discord, Flim&Flam...

I've accepted that Discord unfortunately won't be in.

Knowing my luck he'd be a low-tier character anyway.

Probably use AJ, mainly because so far she's in the most complete state.

This tournament is literally going to be Denegoth vs. Little Emerald vs. G~P

Outside the mane 6 I would guess Spike, Celestia, Luna, Big Mac, Trixie, Gilda, Spitfire, Soarin, Braeburn, CMC (as one), leaving space for one more which could be a number of characters I suppose, but I think Little Strongheart would be a good addition as one of the most agile characters. Personally I don't think having background characters playable in this game wouldn't be such a great idea. Perhaps they should REMAIN in the background, just as part of the scenery.

See you logic but I my reasoning is that they will be going off fan popularity/amount of mainstream fan material created. So I don't see Brae, Gilda or Soarin as their fanbase is pretty second tier. Soarin and the other wonderbolts might turn up as part of Spitfire's super or something.

The one I'm not sure about is Spike, just because of his size really, although there are ways around that. If not he'll be the announcer or something.

On the case of extra room characters, what would be the appropriateness for having a Shang Tsung character added

As for secret Derpy, probably the same scenario to fight Reptile in the first MK game.

Chrysalis would be the obvious candidate but I don't think any S2 characters are making it. But by they get round to the extra characters things could change. They wouldn't throw it in for the hell of it as they are trying to be true to the show in terms of characters moves and personality.

as much as i did enjoy Soul Calibur for the few days i had it, i still found myself going back to King of Fighters XIII and BlazBlue.. but that just my own opinion.. i found Soul Calibur so much more fustrating because even though it was so hilarious with friends, when you go against people online it's like all they seemed to do was slide their tongue all over the controller as there was like no style and no structure to anything they did.. (button mashers.)

nah they've already made The Mayor to be the announcer, as you can hear from those few videos.
