Humanity Vs Ponies...

If they don't work we can always fall back of conversational poison such as heavy metals. There are very few biological organisms that can survive that (and they are all single cell organisms). Only problem with that idea is methods of dispersion.

From what I know of heavy metals, isn't the easiest way to get them into the drinking supply?

If Humanity and Ponies did go to war, wouldn't the ponies use the Elements of Harmony to stop it?

The humans would counter it with the element of nuclear weaponry.

I'd say it depends on a number of things:

Technically, these ponies are a work of fiction, so they'd only be brought into our world through the Tupla effect.

If they did exist, and we invaded their homeland, how does their magic react to physics and technology? E.g in the Dresdenverse, high concentrations of magic tend to make anything hi-tech go kablooey (so basically, anything that relies on microchips and such would die, and newer guns would have a chance of jamming). And how would our physics affect them? Could Pinkie do what she does? Could RD break the sound barrier and be unharmed?

Second, how does their magic work? If it's from within, then they'll be able to use it in our world, but how much could they use? Or is it manipulating energy in the world i.e. from without. If so, do we have energy like that in our world? How many Unicorns possess offensive and defensive magical abilities?

Next, anatomy: Do they have the same resilience as in the show? RD can break the sound barrier without being harmed. Pinkie can twist herself in knots without breaking anything, as well as perform other impossible feats. They all crash through walls on a frequent basis.

Tropes: Are they protected by the "Good Guys can't die / always win" rules of cartoons like this? If so, and we initiate the attack, we have no hope.

That's all I can think of ATM. Might add if anything else comes to mind.

also it clearly takes time to teach an average unicorn a new spell
and since non magic users would be fighting with swords, spears and such it would take years for them to train and mold a pony into a deadly fighter where as you can put a gun in the hands of a basically train human recruit and they become incredibly effective killing machines instantly.

it takes years of training to effectivly use a bladed weapon but basic gun practice can be learnt in a few hours

Ponies would never go to war with humans. Most of the humans would be converted to pony-loving sweethearts, and considering half of the planet has a feeble mind, they're easier to win over.

First of all. Yes there will be winning humans. Cause i would choose the Pony side. Have you seen Celestia and Luna? Those two are immortal.
And why make war? I know humans like to make war but no one should start a war with no good reason. I dont think there is any reason to start a war against them.

You guys fail to realise that having changelings on the Equestrian side would give them a huge advantage. They would be able to utilise the same weapons as the humans, and the sabotages that could be employed would be highly effective. I reckon that, in a situation like this, the changelings would side with the ponies.

Its all down to speed. The longer the war takes the more chance the ponies have of winning.

dont think they can change into anything that isnt pony shaped,their bodies seem to be like blank canvases that can take on a pony shaped appearance, anything oher than a small 4 legged creature is probably beyond their abilities
even if they could how would they be able to overcome the sudden change in motor controls, it would take months for their rewireed brains to be capable of simple walking

this isnt just a simple appearance change its a total body-brain rewire

That does depend on whether it's a transformation or more like an illusion. Illusion would be poor for manipulating human equipment, but would be fine for infiltration.

if they can transform into anything why didnt they turn into Dragons or something more dangerous than ponies during the canterlot invasion?
