I know there's an addon for GIMP that lets you create .gifs from movies, no idea what it's called though.

I honestly have no idea. I thought it was done by screencapping each frame, but when I look at the one that I posted, it has merge frames rather than replace frames. Best bet would be to find someone who does it. Maybe the people on this board http://www.ponychan.net/chan/pic leave their emails?

OK I just wanna go over a few of the songs, because they really hit the nail on the head with them.
Lets start with BBBFF:


I really like this song, the tune is catchy, the lyrics are memorable and it is sung with some actual feeling. Secondly, this is the first MLP song that tempted out the invisible onion chopping ninja's.. manly tears were shed. That sad part at the end of the episode really does tug at the heartstrings, which I suppose was the point.

This Day Aria:


Wow, this one just blew me away. I have to applaud Daniel Ingram for this. It sort of reminded me of an old disney film, you know, back when they were half decent... I like how it is done in a Good/Evil style so we get some Candace and some Evil Candace singing. The tune is also brilliant, lyrics are yet again memorable and the transitions between each singing parts are brilliant.

Love Is In Bloom:

I can't help thinking, in fact KNOWING that there is more to this song. The beat is catchy, the lyrics are nice and Twilight singing is always a treat, one thing I find a shame is that there is no 'clean' version of this song where we can just hear the lyrics and tune, luckily according to Daniel Ingram himself, there IS an extended version that will most likely be released on the DVD, so I will look forward to that.

Although Love Is In Bloom kinda threw me for a loop, in that it's not the usual "suddenly start singing and everypony knows the words to sing along", "communicating with an accompanying score" musical stuff. It's Twilight consciously picking up the mike to sing the big group dance song at the reception. Does this gel with our mental map of her character?
Well, I found it interesting at least.

And This Day screams Disney so loud I can hardly hear the music. Which is a good thing, as so does the entire plot.

Was just considering the whole "good princess rushes to save her beloved from evil queen" (aka plot #7) thing.
Somepony back me up, isn't this "evil queen" trope the reason Celestia is a princess instead?

Yes that is correct, in most childrens shows, queens are always given evil roles (Awkward for us in the UK, living in a monarchy) and princesses are usually given good or hero roles, so queens are generally associated with being evil.
