Ah. I see now. I misunderstood and thought they were saying I HAD to contact on the day of arrival, before 12pm. This makes much more sense :p
    Thanks for the info!

That's alright. They've messed up my instructions before. Drop me a line if you have any more problems with them bro.

How late could I theoretically leave this if theoretically I was coming and theoretically had to stay here?
Like would the day before work? How guaranteed am I not to get stuck with angry people

You could theoretically leave it that long, if they still have rooms available. However the longer it is left, the greater the likeliness of being with angry people.

That's weird. I paid the deposit and it said that the rest of the amount is due upon arrival.

It depends on the number of people in your group. Just a few people pay on the day, larger groups have to pay some weeks in advance.

Theoretically if you left it til the last minute, (and theoretically got a lift with me crimson and firesparkle ;) ) and you ended up with a bunch of angry people, then theoretically, I have a solution. But it may not work, it's just a theory

The inconsistency with this hostel puzzles me.
Follow your instructions to the letter. You've paid a deposit, meaning the place is yours. You should be fine (I'll also include the word 'theoretically' as that's what all the kids are doing).

Oh why the hell not... I'm now booked in the hatters for what should be a memorable Sunday night. Still in the Jurys for Sat, got it for only ~£26 by advance booking, doesn't seem like anyone else is actually staying in our "official" accomodation though.

I do hope I get round to actually meeting most of you before Sunday night!

Well that's cause its to expensive for some of us :p (was nearly £100 for my party's booking and there's only two of us !)
Does anyone know if you have to be 16 or 18 to book and stay in a mixed dorm cause I've just seen two different websites one saying 16, the other 18

On a side note is anyone booked at or going to book at the YHA manchester hostel ???
its not far from the convention hall, its £10 a night for a dorm and you can book if your 16/17

A lesson learned for next year: book out the whole of Hatters or YHA and offer it to attendees at a discounted rate, if possible.

So... are there still people looking to book, or what? I notice there's still free beds in twin, 6 and 8-person dorms for the Fri/Sat/Sun... But I'm not gonna book if it means I might get stuck with... well...
    Yes, that.

So is there anyone yet to book a room on Newton St.? If not, I'll grab a private and just hang out with you guys until I need sleep and go back to my room (which should be some time late on Monday morning). If so, let me know how many so I can book a room big enough.

I might join. How much would it cost, and which nights would you be booking?

That depends entirely on when and how long you're staying! You have to follow the instructions in the original post to find out. :p

I'm planning on getting the tram in on the Saturday morning, staying the Saturday and Sunday, saying my farewells on Monday and making my way back home during the day.

I can come in on the Friday and stay another day, but it'll be fairly late on the Friday that I arrive (work ends at 3:30 on Friday, and who knows how much longer I'll be there because of problems; then I need to pack the stuff I need).
