Well done piggu, have a cute:

We should all drink more Irn Bru, Mr B. The only drink where the sugar free kind tastes just the same as the original, somehow.

Correct, although the word "aye" has manifold meanings depending on context and tone. Much like most swearwords up here.

Seriously Pig, if you want to learn the Scottish patter, find yoursel' an Oor Wullie or Broons book. The new ones for this year just came out, they're only four pound off Book Depository.
Right enough, 'tis a braw concoction.

I wouldn't just be a fan of it myself, but I know there's many a one would drink it...

100 posts in less than a day. Definitely a 'jeepers oh' moment.

I've never heard that use of 'aye' before. We've much to learn about true Scots patter over here, so we do

*wonders when the Blame Game is back on the TV so that Friday evenings will be complete again*
We must study it like the linguists we are......so we should.
Right, I've honestly never had any call to try it, but next time I'm in the shop I'll pick one up and let you know what I think.

Oh, @Pigasus, another excellent source for the Scots language in the wild - Still Game. It's on Netflix. Even the episode titles are all Scisms.

I watched the new series of that, it's really good. Have never seen the old series though.

I think I've seen a few clips of chewing the fat on YouTube. As I recall, *very* thick accents.

I think I liked Irn Bru when I was very young, but nowadays, a lot of soft drinks, that included, taste awful to me.

A word that I only learned from being at this job which perfectly describes what I'm doing at the minute is 'kibbling'...
Didn't know what you meant so I looked it up. It's a bit morbid.

Hmm, I see there is now another 2-time LPW winner, suppose I better pay a bit more attention to these threads like the good ol' days, at least for some more friendly competition.
