Evening all. Having a good day? I sponsored a seal with Seal Rescue Ireland called Geranium a few months ago and he was released back to the wild today. Watched his release via a live broadcast. Was great to see him going home, tho I’m sad I won’t see him again.
Our oven broke today, typical, so takeaway it is, yay lol

While the WW1 details are pretty much secondary school history class level, the cinematography, pacing, and the sets are spectacular.
The amount of skill involved in the camera work, direction, and editing oozes through and you quickly begin to question just how is any of this possible.
I only caught two moments where there could have been a cut outside of the obvious one.
Much like prose vs verse, the ancient argument of if cinematography is good if you get taken out of the story to admire it is most relevant here but thanks to the quality of the direction and acting the film for the most part still got across the emotions it wanted me to feel.

I did not know there were other verses to "Ye Cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff The Bus".
    Apparently it's alright to shove
your other granny [i.e., on the paternal side]
    your drunken uncle
    your ugly cousin
    and your baby brother
    aff the bus.
Aaaagh I miss Donegal so muuuuuch! Used to go to Dunfanaghy every year when I was a little kid...

I feel like we could get political here, with the English person thanking all the other colonised bits of Britain for help, but we're all friends here and besides i'm tired brain is mush
