Just a little place for any wise/inspirational lyrics that mean a lot to you. Music has taught me a lot in my life, lessons, mistakes, views.. I wanted to share a few of these, and I thought you would like to share some with everybody else, too. I'd like everyone to be able to look at this thread for comfort or a mood boost after a long day or during a difficult time, so please keep it nice! With that noted, maybe I should begin; Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with yourself. - Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free Although a popular song for my generation, I have always found this song to be something I can aim to live by, something I can relate to, and, as it was always meant to be - a source of great advice. I chose this particular quote because back in the last years of education and the early years of my career I always felt I wasn't doing my best because others were doing better. This particular advice helped me to realise to set my own pace in life, no matter what those around me are or are not doing, and that's something I still think about and try to do to this day. Anyway, I look forward to hearing some lyrics that are important to you all, as well. Thanks!
I like big butts and I can not lie You other brothers can't deny That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist And a round thing in your face You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough 'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed Deep in the jeans she's wearing I'm hooked and I can't stop staring Oh baby, I wanna get with you And take your picture My homeboys tried to warn me But that butt you got makes me so- Hm, maybe I should stop there.
"Now I'm sure you've had times when you've felt down or angry, Wanted to lash out, punch a wall and be manly, But the question I pose now will offer you a plan B, And maybe some peace and quiet for your friends and family, How hard is it to decide to be in a good mood, And then just be.. in.. a good mood? That's all I have to say because it's a straight up fact, You control your emotions it's as simple as that." - Waiting for the beat to kick in - Scroobius Pip
"So happy they found me, love was all around me. Blackbird - The Beatles

"Everybody knows that the dice are loaded Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed Everybody knows that the war is over Everybody knows the good guys lost Everybody knows the fight was fixed The poor stay poor, the rich get rich" - Leonard Cohen "I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill, my share of losing And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say, not in a shy way, Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way" - Frank Sinatra "Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right." - Bob Marley "Well I won't back down, no I won't back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell But I won't back down" - Tom Petty (I prefer the Johnny Cash cover)
"But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake." - Still alive by Jonathan Coulton I say this line in my head whenever I feel disheartened about something. Who knew GLaDOS could be so encouraging
"Can't you tell that somebody really loves you? If I didn't love you, why would I bother... To suffer what I suffer. My life hangs in the balance, it's not about money... 'Cause I can make all the money I want with all the talent that I got. I know people would pay a whole lot of money if I shut my mouth and go singing or playing my violin or... It ain't about money! It's about human beings being able to grow and develop, so that the world can be made a better place to live on! It ain't about money..." -- Romanthony "Hold On" (1999)

Not sure if it's from a song but this means a lot to me. ;A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words.'

All natural and technological processes proceed in such a way that the availability of the remaining energy decreases In all energy exchanges, if no energy enters or leaves an isolated system the entropy of that system increases Energy continuously flows from being concentrated to becoming dispersed, spread out, wasted and useless New energy cannot be created and high-grade energy is being destroyed An economy based on endless growth is unsustainable - Muse, The 2nd Law: Unsustainable Even if they are slightly wrong about science - energy is never created or destroyed, it simply converts to another form of energy, e.g. the conversion of electrical energy to kinetic, sound and heat energy by an electric motor.
