Umbreon's always been my favourite eeveelution but I've never had one legitimately, unless you include Colosseum then Umbreon was the only Pokémon I used.

I must admit, plain old eevee is very cute.

I gained a new appreciation for her when I played Pokémon Conquest (the player's starter is an eevee, and it's very powerful even without evolving for most of the main story).

Speaking of Pokémon Conquest, darn it why'd they have to make the after-game so dull...

I've heard from friends about how Conquest's after-game is, and it's the only reason I haven't gotten round to playing it yet. Well, that and money...

This is surprising though, because I was a huge fan of the Samurai Warriors series, and was really looking forward to this game.

It's a really fun game. Up until the after-game. When it gets so unbelievably repetitive and dull that it made even me give up (and I'm used to grinding for weeks on end on MMOs).

It wouldn't be so bad, but the main game is only like 10-15 hours. So unless you find it for cheap/have an insanely high boredom tolerance it's a waste of money.

Pity. I really enjoyed the "Character Evolutions" mechanics and stuff.

I'd been hoping for a turn based strategy Pokémon game for years, and then when it came along... meh... I've never played it. The way they presented it just doesn't appeal to me. If they'd actually included every single Pokémon I might have been more inclined to buy it.

I literally cannot wait for this. The new Eeveelution, the new game mechanics, possibly a new type being introduced, the 3D designs... nnngh, for me it's the refresh that pokémon needed, since "capture, train, win" was kinda getting old :p Of course that's still going to be the main aim, but at least there are going to be new ways of doing it!

Also wow the legendaries are gorgeous and I'm in love with them both. Gimme.

Ok so I'm kinda stuck in Pokemon Gold. I have 5 badges from Kanto so far, I can't go west from Cerulean and I can't go south from Fuchsia. How do I go about getting to the other towns?

Been a while since I went through Soul Silver... lemme try and remember...

Oh wait, that's it. Head to Vermillion City, and head east. Just outside the city you will find the Digletts' Cave, which leads to Pewter City. East from there will lead to Mt. Moon, taking you back to Cerulean, and south should get you to Viridian City, Pallet Town, Cinnabar Island, Seafoam Islands, and finally back into Fuschia City.

...If memory serves right, that is.

That bit of GSC was always a bit weird.

Yeah, I remember reaching to Olivine and wanting to Surf to Cianwood, only to find out I hadn't got Surf yet. After getting it in Ecruteak, I went back to Olivine to find out I still needed Morty's badge to use Surf. Back to Ecruteak again!

This all happened in my badly drawn Nuzlocke comic, too.

hehe the joys when pokemon wasn't so linear, was so annoying yet quite funny when you had to go through tons of stuff to fin out you needed strength or surf to go further making you have to go all the way back, though the worst thing is trying to find surf on red, blue and yellow for the first time when youve never seen or read a guide, i only found it through sheer chance.

also im planning to start my soul silver again but two things are really bugging me one ive completed everything in the pokathlon and i hate doing that flag chase game to get the all time record because its such a pain in the neck, and also which is stopping me more is my pokewalker is out of power so i cant reset it and i don't know if i start it again without resetting it will it not work on my new game.

I can't remember having any major issues with routing on RBY except that darn Snorlax.

GSC was more annoying. Particularly in Kanto. When I first got there I was convinced I wasn't meant to be there yet due to the absurd levels.

There's a poké flute channel on the radio. Can't remember the precise name.

Yeah. And you have to do a mini-quest in the original GSC to get radio in Kanto IIRC, ecmc1093.
