    It Is the golden age of ponies, after the events of the Lunar Princess's return and the wedding of Princess Cadence and the now-Prince Shinning armour but before Twilight's Royal ascension to the status of Princess.

    The land is full of mystery, adventure, fearsome monsters and ancient secrets to be discovered and conquered. Many of the Races and creatures known in the present are unknown or merely a legend to the public of Equestria.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    An Adventurer's guild exists within the walls of Canterlot city known as the Equestrian Questers. This Guild specialises and are hired to deal with uncivil disturbances throughout Equestria from Manticore attacks, to rumoured dangers and lost wonders in need of retrieval, Mercenaries if you will, but honourable and dedicated. their first priority is to see that Equestria is safe... then that they get paid.
    For this RP you will be part of the Equestrian Questers or will be someone who joins along the way of their adventures, either way this RP is for those who wish to make the most of a world filled to the brim of dangerous but thrilling adventure, magical artifacts and loot. Think of it as Dungeons and Dragons, but in Equestria and instead of a DM the other players and yourself decides what happens.
    I highly encourage branching out in terms of characters you put into this RP. you could be a Griffon, Hippogriff, Minotaur, Pony, Seapony, even a centaur (albeit no way near as powerful as Tirek, i'd consider him an alicorn equivalent in the centaur world.) or a changling in hiding. the choice is yours but there's no pressure, play the character you think would suit this RP the best in your mind.
    If you have an idea for fights, artifacts, traps or events that will affect the group in a large manner, feel free to talk it over in the OOC thread also be self aware when it comes to how powerful your character may become, leave some fun for the rest of us now.
    Stringwing Songbird chucked down the last of her drink, slamming the elegant but strong wooden tankard down onto the bar, giving out a large, loud burp. "Haha! no matter where i go, your drinks will always be the best Brew!" She shouted in a friendly manner across the bar to which she sat at.
    Songbird was in the old brewer's, Special Brew's, most successful Inn. The place was packed with ponies of all classes from Canterlot as well as travelling individuals such as herself, all enjoying the company of one another... or the company of their drinks, either way there wasn't a furrowed brow in sight.
    The Inn itself, The Princesses' Arms, was a beautifully build Tudor-esque building with thick hard wood beams beautifully carved and decorated that held up the second floor from the bar, with tapestries of fine silks with beautiful markings and patterns. Each piece of furniture from the soft cushioned fixed sofas against the walls that made social little alcoves with a table in the middle, to the elegantly make bar stools with a small soft cushion embedded into the seat, gold fixings and highly detailed wooden carvings along the legs. Somehow this entire Inn had some of the most expensive furnishings in all of Canterlot, yet held a friendly and informal atmosphere with all it's patrons.
    "Ah, you humble me Miss Songbird." He Replied with a chuckle "Will we be hearing your beautiful voice once more before you leave?" Special Brew asks leaning forward resting his elbows on the bar as he spoke.
    "Afraid not old man, you know me, i would if i had time, heh." She smiles with a shrug.
    "Will ya be meeting your fellow adventurers here then?" He asked inquisitively, silently offering another drink.
    Stringwing waved a claw, turning down the offer with a friendly smile. "don't be silly, why would adventurers meet in an Inn of all places for a briefing?" She laughs followed by a chuckle from Special Brew.
    "Ah good point, never though of it like that."
    A few moments passed of chatter before She said her farewells and left, making her way down the brick paved streets of Canterlot on her way to the adventuring guild: The Equestrian Questers, waving to the various ponies she crossed paths with who knew her.
    Standing proudly inside Canterlot city stood the headquarters of The Equestrian Questers, Equestrias own adventurers guild. Inside, over the general chatter of ponies and the other races from equestria and beyond, a strange chant could be heard. The source of the chanting came from one of the smaller side rooms off the main hall, inside sat a lone zebra in the centre of the room, surrounded by bottles of many different sizes and shapes each containing liquids of varying colours.
    The zebra, named Kamari Kiama, was sat in front of one open potions bottle with his eyes closed, slowly chanting in his native tougue as the liquid inside slowly changed colours while glowing.
    “Ninaita juu ya mamlaka ya nchi yangu, mabadiliko ya sadaka hii ili kutumikia mapenzi yangu” he opened his eyes a crack checking on the potion, frowning at the incorrect colour he closed his eyes again and repeated the chant “Ninaita juu ya mamlaka ya nchi yangu, mabadiliko ya sadaka hii ili kutumikia mapenzi yangu …..” He continued to repeat the short phrase hoping it wouldn't take to much longer.
    Stringwing Songbird finally arrived at the spectacularly massive guild hall, made of huge expertly chiselled stone with smooth marble highlights, some of those highlights being 2 enormous ancient Greek-style pillars holding up the entryway. The building almost looked like a castle of it's own right, with massive intricate banners holding the guild's emblem with various scrollings of mythical beasts intertwined with wispy patterns along the rim and held up with large, polished brass bars fixed to the walls.
    As Songbird entered the Guild's main reception of sorts, she was met with a bustling sight of both customers arranging contracts with staff and adventurers discussing travel plans over maps or checking their inventories before setting off. Songbird walked past the various groups towards the quest board, placing a clawed finger on her bottom beak as she scowled, looking for something enticing.
    "Manticore in Manehattan... eh" she muttered under her breath, "Parasprite infestation in Appeloosa, i've had enough of those blighters, no thank you..." she furrowed her brow before a sudden gasp of excitement, "Ah! Archaeologists require protection while exploring the undiscovered west of Equestria for ruins, Artefacts etc. Pay ß50 a day. rations provided blah blah blah.... Nice!" She swipes the paper off the one nail it was pinned with, leaving a little tear at the very top and walks over with a spring in her step to the back room, where the guild master approves quests. "Hey Boss, how's the missus?" Songbird asked with a smile on her face as she approached the desk, placing the contract on the desk.
    He grumbled angrily and looked up "oh, it's you Miss. She's a pain as ever, you know, the usual." He replies with a much more pleasant mood.
    Songbird was one of the few members who got along with the guild master. Bjorm was the name of this old chocolate coloured earth pony in his 60s, with a gray and white mane and an old classy moustache, which despite being a classy style, was unkempt and ruffled most of the time from his stressful job. To most others he was very sour and barely tolerant, but he could never be so sour to songbird. She had a sweet and friendly aura about her that almost everyone loved, which helped her get along with others, no matter their gender species or social stature... It also helped that he'd never had reason to dislike her: not one complaint, a single squabble or failed contract, a star pupil of the adventuring world.
    "Haha, well i hope the day's not too rough for you boss, got another assignment." she replies scooting it across the desk to his side.
    "Hm?" he grumbled, rustling his moustache as he read through it, "a long-term contract eh, you ain't done one'a them fer a while."
    "Well i'm feeling for a more challenging contract, plus i've not gone camping in forever!" she replied with a cute grin.
    "Alright then," He said, stamping the contract and passing a quill and inkwell over, "You know the drill, also, take one'a them Pseudodragons, they're ah new requirement fer long-term, distant er significantly dangerous contracts." He points to the room on the right. "I trust you'll treat em right, bring one back here and i'll tell ya how to use the rascals."
    Songbird Raised a brow in intrigue as she signed her name on the contract, handing it back. "Alright Boss." she replied gingerly walking over towards the room and opening the door.
    “Ninaita juu ya mamlaka ya nchi yangu, mabadiliko ya sadaka hii ili kutumikia mapenzi yangu” Growing impatient, Kamari checked on the bottle again and smiled at the result. The liquid inside had taken on many different shades of blue constantly swirling and intermingling with each other. Satisfied he corked the bottle up and placed it and all the others around himself carefully into his saddlebags.
    With a nod he left, making his way back into the main hall of the guild straight to the main quest board “Labda kuna kitu kinachovutia leo (Maybe there's something interesting today)” he muttered to himself.
    After a few minutes of perusing one contract had caught his eye, marked 2/2 at the bottom of the page it was obviously a 2 pony job, and someone had claimed the first position. 'Archaeologists require protection while exploring the undiscovered west of Equestria for ruins, Artefacts etc. Pay ß50 a day. rations provided, tenting equipment provided.' Kamari read it carefully, smiling as he did 'this is perfect' he thought as he rolled up the contract and headed to the Guildmasters office, he bowed his head slightly as he entered “Salamu bwana Bjorm”.
    “In Equestrian if you would” The angry looking pony sat at the desk said in an annoyed tone.
    Kamari rolled his eyes “Apologies, Greetings master Bjorm, I believe I have contract suitable for me to perform” he said rolling out the contract on the desk.
    The older pony took the contract and read through it, “And what make you suitable for this job?” the Guild master said looking the zebra up and down.
    “Sir, I've been travelling the wilds of this land for years you see, I have yet to meet anyone who knows them better than me”
    Bjorn grunted “I suppose you make your point, even in rhyme” he stamped the contract and handed back across the desk, “sign your name, you'll meet your partner for this job when she gets back”
    After not too long, Stringwing Songbird came back out of the room in the guild master's office. Only she had a rather derpy looking small green dragon like reptile on her head.
    "Hey Bjorm, this lil' fella is hilarious." she giggled looking up at the Pseudo-dragon who looked back down from atop her feathered noggin with a blank expression.
    "That's one way of putting it..." The grumpy old pony replied almost giving the dragon a scowl. "Meet yer partner for the contract... uh, kamio lamadama was it?" He scratched his head, "Bah i never remember yer damn name... too many vowels." He said dismissively grumbling as he sorted various papers.
    "Huh?" Songbird looked over to the desk and saw a Zebra who she'd seen around before but never got a chance to talk to, "Oh, hey, I'm Stringwing Songbird" She approached with her claw held out for a hoof-shake. "My friends call me Songbird though."
    “Kamari Kiama” he said as he took the hoof shake “Salamu Miss Songbird, A beautiful name if i haven't misheard, call me Kia for short” he let the hoofshake go and turned to Bjorm “now sir, tell us more about who we're needed to escort?”
    "Ahem" Bjorm mumbled and grumbled as he sifted through his paperwork finding the adventure's details. "No... no... no... uhuh... hmmm this is it." He replied, throwing papers about.
    "You'll be meetin' these ere' ponies at Ponyville station then takin' the train tuh Los Pegasus..." He mumbled some more as he skimmed a few lines, "-But stopping before at the White Tail Wood's Train station an' making yer way westward." Bjorm grumbled more for a few moments as he skimmed through again, "The client's you'll be escorting will be holding a sign of the Equestrian Quester's Insignia at the Ponyville Train station. their names are Mrs and Mrs..." He furrowed his brow, "...Am i readin' that right? Mrs.... and Mrs, huh... anyway, Mrs and Mrs Jones."
    He looked back up to the two Questers. "Well, that's about it, ya already know about the pay n' provided equipment n' food. Any questions?"
    “Just one question from me it would seem, What time do we meet the rest of the team?” Kamari asked,
    Bjorm skimmed through the papers again “Hmm, ah, here it is, 3pm tomorrow”.
    “That's all I'll need, in order to proceed” he turned to Songbird as they walked back out into the main hall, “I'll be getting the train to Ponyville tonight, you're welcome to join me if that's alright?” he started towards the entrance, “Unless you want to make your own way there, either or, I don't care”. Outside, he sat on a nearby bench and waited to see her answer.
    "hm? oh yeah, lemme jus- AH Celestia's Beard that hurt!" Songbird was interrupted by The derpy green hooligan burping fire right on her head. "holy moly... you're a handful!" She exclaimed patting the flames out before looking to Bjorm who rolled his eyes at the event.
    "so uh, why do i need this guy Boss?" she asked with a worried expression.
    "for emergency mail of course, you never heard of a Pseudo-Dragon before?" he replied.
    "um... no." She looked up at the dragon, "so is he like a carrier pigeon?"
    "about as useful as one, but no. their fire breath has a magical property that sends written notes and letters to the recipient Instantly." he said scowling at the little dragon, as if he'd burned him one too many times. "It's a trait they share with regular dragons."
    "Don't ask me how!" he said suddenly with a serious look on is face that quickly softened. "-Because i don't know... Just make sure you address your mail properly and they'll be no problem." He waved his hoof in a dismissive manner. "now shoo! I've got more work to do."
    "A-alright..." Songbird looked up nervously at the little dragon before leaving.
    She made her way out the door and over to her new zebra companion. "Hey, you said tonight? That'd be fine with me, gives us a chance to get to know one another and what not." She smiled happily, seeming to forget the dragon on her head still.
    Kamari kept his eye on the small dragon on Songbirds head as he stood up, “Of course, we have a few hours before the train will depart, getting to know one another might be a good start” He said as he started walking towards the city centre marketplace.
    “I hope you don't mind walking while we talk” he checked in his saddlebags “but I must restock a few ingredients as well as my writing chalk” after a few more steps a heavy weight lumped on his back, he turned his head and his gaze was meet by the small green Pseudo-dragon staring at him quizzically.
    “Little one, you may be cute, but if you wouldn't mind, could you scoot?” he said motioning towards Songbird. The critter responded by suddenly clambering up his face and curling up in his mane. “Or instead, use my mane as your personal bed” he sighed.
    Songbird giggled slightly, "I have mixed feelings about that lil' fella, cute but a pain." She said as they walked into the market.
    "So what is it that you do?" She asked inquisitively, looking the zebra up and down curiously. "I personally haven't seen much of Zebras on my travels, apparently they like to stick close to themselves."
    As Songbird spoke the dragon looked at her with it's usual derpy expression, to which she met it's gaze, and just as she did, the dragon poked it's tongue out of it's toothed maw with a small 'Blep' sound as it hung there. Songbird didn't expect such to happen and caught off guard started giggling, her eyes watering from the sudden amusement.
    Kamari smiled as Songbird giggled away next to him, “That we do miss Songbird, When I left my homeland my tribe thought I was being absurd. Wanting to explore what was beyond my land, all these new sights and sounds begging for me to understand” he kept talking as they browsed through the various stalls set up in the market square.
    “As for what I do? Potions brewing and alchemy are the crafts I pursue” he pulled a rolled up parchment from his bags and unrolled it showing Songbird an elaborate pattern of runes drawn around the base shape of a circle, “The circle is the base of alchemy as a whole, an ancient form of zebra magic done using the circles and our voice to control” He replaced the scroll in his bags.
    “It's a strange thought, you seem the inquisitive sort” he said noticing she hadn't yet asked the one question that everypony he's meet has asked without fail. “There's one question I've gotten used to being asked all the time, its a simple and obvious one, most ponies ask: why do I rhyme?”
    Songbird wiped the joyful tear from her eye as she composed herself, "Oh is that so? my reasons are the same, the Hippogriff kingdom is a very home centred place, not many adventurous types. So i seek to make exciting, fun and adventurous memories as i travel."
    "Interesting profession, you must get a lot of business for aliments that need curing." She said with a smile. "I'm a bard myself, some say i've got an almost magical voice, lulling people to sleep, holding people's full attention with almost no effort, who knows what else. But hey, maybe i'm just that good of a performer, haha." She dismissively giggled as she perused a nearby stall that sold various instruments and such.
    "I get that alot, I dunno if that's a bad thing or not though, no harm as come of it so far so I doubt it." She smiled looking back to Kamari, "Oh, yeah, the thought had crossed my mind... i just figured it was a cultural thing, heh" She smiled awkwardly and shrugged.
    As songbird finished speaking, the pair came across the stall he was looking for, selling all sorts of herbs and other potion ingredients. Smiling he rooted through his saddlebags and bought out a list he'd written earlier that morning of what he was missing.
    “Salamu, nzuri kuona uso unaojulikana hapa mbali na nyumbani. Ninawezaje kusaidia? (Greetings, nice to see a familiar face this far from home. How can I help?)”
    Recognizing his native tongue, Kamari looked up, a zebra had appeared behind the stall with a warm, friendly smile, “Ah, salamu kwako pia. Nzuri hatimaye kuwa na uwezo wa kuzungumza na mtu kwa lugha yangu mwenyewe. Nina orodha ya nini na ni kiasi gani ninachohitaji, ikiwa ungekuwa mwema sana? (Ah, greetings to you too. Nice to finally be able to speak to someone in my own tongue. I have a list of what and how much I require, if you'd be so kind?)” he said handing over the list.
    “Bila shaka, nipe tu dakika chache tu (Of course, just give me a few minutes)” The zebra said as she read through it and started looking through the many differently shaped jars stacked up around her.
    He turned back to Songbird “Ndio ni sehemu ya utamaduni wangu” he faltered and quickly switched back to Equestrian “Sorry, Yes it's part of my culture to rhyme, though to break it isn't really a crime. Its just expected when we aren't using our native tongue, and hammered into our heads from when we're very young”
    "Interesting." She said, "Heh, would be funny if your ancestors started it as an inside joke, making all the other races thinking that you needed to and what not."
    "So what kinds of potions do you make?"
    she asked tilting her head with curiosity as she looked about the stall, of which the contents were quite strange and somewhat random, at least to her. There were many jars of slimy goop of various colours and flowers so pretty to others so spiky and thistled. Many herb and grass-like plants and fibres hung from small wooden railed above each as different as the other.
    "Must take a lifetime to learn the combinations for all the potions, poisons and balms..." She said aloud, still engrossed with the shop keep's strange inventory.
    Kamari grinned “To become a master at it, yes, to get there I still have many years to progress” he dug through his saddlebags, “I have many potions that cure many woes, though the recipes are closely guarded secrets I cannot disclose”
    The sales zebra reappeared “Amri yako bwana, nilikuwa na kila kitu katika hisa (Your order sir, i had everything in stock)” The stall zebra said stacking a collection of jars full of various liquids along with several pouches of herbs onto the front of the stall, “Hiyo itakuwa 40 bits tafadhali (That'll be 40 bits please).
    Kamari pulled a small pouch from his bag, counted out 40 bits from it and handed them over, before packing everything away in his saddlebags.
    “Asante kwa desturi yako, kuwa na mchana mzuri (Thank you for your custom, have a nice afternoon)” the zebra said waving them off.
    “Na kwako (and to you)” Kamari answered as the pair kept walking, “Thats my business concluded for today, unless there's anything you needed round this way?”
    "I may be inquisitive and curious but rest assured music is my passion and trade." She replied giving Kamari a reassuring look.
    “Thats my business concluded for today, unless there's anything you needed round this way?”
    "Nope." Songbird chirped. "To Ponyville and spend the night at the Inn over there?" She smiled as they continued to walk. "Or do you have other travel plans?"
    Brine sighed with pleasure as he supped at his Strawberry Daquiri in the luxurious pampered comfort of the Canterlot Spa, moving aside the delicate pony adornments of petals and paper umbrellas as delicately as his bulky - yet supple - bear paws were able. He enjoyed Canterlot, the first pony city he had visited (after climbing its peak of course) and the world famous Canterlot spa was probably the closest thing to a home Brine had... in that it was one of the few places he had ever returned to. Of course at first the attendants had balked at the idea of the rugged bear attending the spa, often - Brine had to admit - caked in mud, blood and general adventure-stink, and they had thought he must have confused the spa with one of Canterlot's drinking establishments, such the Princesses' arms. Eventually, however, the ponies of the spa had reconciled themselves to Brine's visits and Brine had in turn settled for the chestnut red remarkably strong yet soft-hooved earth clyde stallion-massues, Petri.
    "Will Sir be staying in Canterlot long?" Petri inquired, in a thick Swedish accent.
    "Sadly not." Brine responded in the deep bass of his booming voice. "Got to take a job from the guild if I'm going to see the Stormlands in Spring." Petri nodded in response. Brine needed to commission not only an airship but also a fair number of items for barter with the locals if he didn't want to end up on the wrong end of the storm lords' infamously foul temper, and that took hard pony currency. Fortunately his skills lent themselves to adventuring contracts. He was not a skilled fighter by any means, but in a land of predominantly ponies his muscle and natural bear ferocity saw him in demand at the Equestrian Questers. He'd already taken a few jobs at the Guild.
    ---
    As Brine left the spa and made his way to the guild a source of concern was that on his last job, now a number of months ago, he'd quit mid-way through, and guildmaster Bjorm was a notorious grump who - last they had spoken - had sworn never to permit Brine to take another job. As he made his lumbering way down the cobbled Canterlot streets he readied himself to be his most contrite, appeasing and humble self and accept whatever humiliating assignment or forfeit that Bjorm could impose.
    Brine padded up the marble steps and through the gilded columns of the majestic guildhall with trepidation. He made his way, as meekly as he could manage, towards Bjorm's desk (the stallion was turned away from Brine). Unfortunately at the last second his natural flamboyance overcame his resolution and he boomed, "Bjorm! Well met again my little pony."
    A few ponies and assorted others looked with interest - aware of Bjorm's reputation for not suffering foals :p However, Bjorm betrayed no awareness that Brine had spoken apart from the slightest ear-flick. The stallion continued to turn away from Brine and continued with his task, which - as Brine approached - appeared to be a scribing some sort of letter, as he held a quill deftly in his mouth. Brine, mollified, waited for Bjorm to finish. Eventually, Bjorm turned to Brine. "Well?" he spat. "I-if it's about the other day... I'm sorry about that." Brine said in a less-booming voice, like a scolded cub. "It's just-". "No excuses. Commission 200 bits. Opportunity cost 300 bits. Reputation loss 500 bits." the stallion growled. Brine's felt a wrench in the pit of his stomach; his entire savings - minus lavish spa-days - came to 500 bits, but he knew bargaining was pointless. He reached his coin purse, behind his bear belt-buckle, and placed it on the table. "There's 500 in there." In response Bjorm grunted and, emptying the pouch, began counting.
    Eventually the pony was satisfied. "The. Last. Time." he growled. "I swear!" Brine boomed, hoping that meant he could avoid the debt for the other 500 bits. "We'll be square once you take a job for free. Remember Songbird? She's just headed out to the market. She'll fill you in on the details. Shouldn't need much muscle. If you can stick it out this time..." he frowned and squared up to Brine, causing even the boistrous bear to gulp and shrink back a little, "...then maybe there's another job for you. Maybe." Brine just nodded in response. It took a lot to cow Brine, but if ever there was a pony who reminded Brine of his father then Bjorm was it. Stallion was tough as nails.
    Brine headed to the market to find the hippogriff.
    ----
    Brine soon spied Songbird and her companion in the market. The white hippogriff and her long aqua mane stood out somewhat from the general ponies. He had never adventured with Songbird, but knew of her and admired her proud race. He also knew that she was one of the few members of the guild who could tame Bjorm. Brine also saw Kamari. He had not come across the zebra before. Brine was not unfamiliar with zebras, having travelled widely, so he understood that he was not simply a stripey horse. He had never, however, adventured with a zebra, and was intrigued as to what the other would be like to adventure with. "Songbird! Zebra! Hello! he boomed as he lolloped towards them through the throng of market ponies. "I've spoken to Bjorm and I'm to join you and your companion on your quest!"
    Songbird heard heavy padded footfalls approaching as herself and Kamari browsed the market stalls. She instinctively filtered off to the side, allowing space for whatever large individual or cargo was headed their way, not bothering to look at what the source of the footfalls were. That was until she heard a booming voice from behind that made her jump slightly, not expecting anything.
    "Songbird! Zebra! Hello!" The voice bellowed with an aggressively cheery tone.
    Songbird turned, coming face to face with a large bipedal... polar bear. "Oh, hello" She spoke, taken off-guard.
    "I've spoken to Bjorm and I'm to join you and your companion on your quest!" The bear continued, with a peculiar grin on his face.
    "Ah, yes i remember you, you're uh..." Songbird clicked her clawed appendages together trying to recall the bear's name, "-Brine, was it? I've seen you around but we've never spoken, you never seem to stay in one place long enough for a chat" She smiled. "So my Ursine friend, have you been given the brief from the old grump, or did he just throw you at us making us handle the briefing?" She asked inquisitively, "That old fart always does that, i swear he's getting lazy in his old age." She giggled.
