Since it doesn't look like we'll be getting an official site calendar anytime soon, I took it upon myself to start an unofficial google calendar containing all the events. It is a lot easier and nicer on the eyes to see upcoming meets in a calendar layout than a list of unorganised threads. So here it is: UK of Equestria Unofficial Events Calendar Browser Extensions XML feed (also suitable for integrating with various things *looks at Ripp_*) ical feed iOS/Mobile apps (update 9/6/15 - better solution) I have populated it briefly just with the current upcoming events from the confirmed events page, and all the details are mostly just a copy+paste. I will try and keep it updated myself, but I am also accepting admins for the Calendar. As long as you have a reputation here, post your google account here (or PM it to me), and I can add you as an admin, where you can add and modify events for yourself. This will help spread the workload, and allow users to edit their own event.
Just checked it out. Good job. I'll volunteer as an admin if no one else wants to be one but otherwise I'm not really bothered.
Go for it, the more admins the better. Post or PM me your google account and I can add you. Anyone who has posted an event, is and admin/mod, or a reputable member here that wishes to be an admin can do so, just give me your google account and I can add you, and it should then allow you to create and modify events.
This has made my life so much easier. It's going straight in to the speed dial. Don't know if I'd qualify. I'll help to manage it if you want.
Of course you do, anyone with a decent amount of posts that's been around a while. Basically anyone on the site apart from new users and/or people with low post counts that I've barely heard of.
I feel honoured. And I must watch more Community. Preferably by stealing my friends hard disk. Cheers. I'll PM you my G-mail/Google details.
It's just an option, it may be easier to integrate with muffinMare or various extensions. I'm also thinking it may be better to just include a link to the details thread in the details section so it doesn't have to be constantly updated if information changes, or would people prefer the current method of copy+pasting it? As I said, if you host a meet up, I can add you as an admin so you can edit the calendar yourself, or PM me or one of the other calendar admins and we'll do it.
Has the Cardiff meet on the 19th been added to it? It hasn't been moved to the Confirmed Events Discussion so I thought it was worth checking. I'd do it myself, but I'm on a mobile and don't know if I'd be allowed to do so anyway.
Links to the details thread does seem a better option. Shall keep the basics in there like time and meeting place.
Nice work! Also, there's probably going to be another meetup at the end of October, at the MCM again. Not sure on the exact dates, but just letting you know.
Just got June and July mixed up for TNMoC date on my calendar! Luckily, I didn't book my train tickets for the 14th of June!
Sure thing, post you google account (or PM it to me if you want to keep it private) and I'll add you to the admin list. You should then be able to create and edit events.
(sorry for double post, but I think this is relevant) I have just released extensions for both Opera and Chrome (firefox coming soon). One of the flaws is that the descriptions are a bit too long, so could all the admins replace the copy+pasted descriptions with concise summaries that will be suitable for displaying in the extension. Just include the key information, that should be fine.
I went on the calendar thing through google and all the descriptions are gone. Is that you temporarily solving the issue or is it just not working for me?
