I know - that happened before @Mark Hyder when you phone at the "wrong" time they know nothing. I really dont know what is going on there this year.
Seriously dont book the Mercure even if they say they still have space - it is not confirmed but it looks like they had to cancel more bookings of ours (we are just now trying to find out the impact it had this time). If you have booked the Mercure, please check your emails!!
And feel free to contact myself @Sparkler or @Archer if you are worried or struggle with the Mercure.

Hope I'm not stepping on @Sparkler's hooves by mentioning this here, but via the PonyCon forum: the customs auction raised £355.24! I think that calls for a yay. Yay! :D

I think I helped towards £50 of that.

ha ha-you are not @Loganberry - I am trying to "clear" the vendor ads first (as we are promoting our vendors atm on FB and Twitter). I did not want to squeeze it inbetween as I have the feeling it might disappear in all the hype ;-)
I am preparing one for here too, so watch this space!

Looking forward to this now, Horse Con no. 2 for me, it'll be interesting to be at a con that is more for all generations rather than just for bronies.

I'll be @Stormblaze's minion for the weekend :3

Excellent! :) But remember, you can have more than one thread in this forum if you find it easier to do things that way. If you look at the thread list, you'll see how BronyScot has done it, and it'd be fine for UK PonyCon to use extra threads if you felt that was appropriate. That's what the con-specific prefixes are for. :)
Compared with BUCK? It's certainly different! I went to both last year, and my impressions of UK PonyCon were:

    * Much wider age range: there are a lot of kids around, and quite a few activities specifically aimed at kids. And plenty even older than me!
    * Obviously, being all-gens, you don't get too much of the pretence that FiM is everything, which is nice.
    * More emphasis on community stuff rather than VIP guests or huge set-pieces; there was a live band last year, but that was because the con's theme was musical. So I expect a live spaceship launch this year. :p
    * Lots and lots and lots of vendors! UK PonyCon's background is as a collector's event, after all.
    * Rather a lower-budget feel. This isn't actually a criticism; it feels more laid back and less constant all-out energy, and I like that.

Obviously the above refers to 2014 specifically and is just what I felt; others may feel differently.

Nice change of pace, then! :D

*sighs* Fine, but I need some jump leads, she won't start.

ha ha ha everyone needs a minion @8_Bit

@Loganberry - I need to look into that. Pre-fixing and stuffs ;-) I am still used to forums not really wanting us to have several threads (or me in this case, I am the baddy...)

Well, we might get a little concerned if you put up hundreds of threads! But a few is fine. Drop me a PM if you have any trouble setting new ones up. :)

It certainly was interesting for me last year.

I entered the Wetherspoons with a group of Bronies I had met at BUCK and ended up as the only guy at a table full of women from PonyCon, because there wasn't space for me with the guys.

You certainly don't get that at BUCK.

I'm so curious to see what this year's t-shirt will look like, I need to get more money to spend too.

Finally got my train tickets booked for Leicester. Treat myself to first class ones as it was only ten pounds extra!

Just been looking at car parks. Leicester station seems to be the easiest option. £7 for the day.
