Important: I am not UK PonyCon staff. This thread is being posted here as a convenience to UK of E members.

Venue: Nottingham Conference Centre (Google Maps)
Dates: Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October 2019
    Theme: Ocean Adventure

It may only be January, but the first big piece of information about UK PonyCon 2019 has already been announced! The theme for this year's convention (UKPC's 16th!) will be "Ocean Adventure" as stated in this official con tweet:

Over on the UKPC forums, there's a little extra information. In particular, that they hope to be able to announce further details in February. Starting to get exciting now! :)

Looking forward to it. As soon as I know the dates I'll book the time off work.

The venue and dates have been announced! And... UK PonyCon 2019 will be held on the weekend of 12th and 13th October. And the host venue will be the Nottingham Conference Centre once again! Here's the official Twitter confirming the news:

Note that ticket and stall application details are not yet confirmed, so those will have to wait a little while longer.

I'm generally happy. Partly from a selfish point of view in that it's fairly easy for me to get to, and partly from a general POV in that I think the place (venue and city) was mostly pretty good last year. It's also very easy to reach by public transport, as there's a tram from the railway station to very close to the venue itself. With that glass roof, I hope it's not quite so warm and sunny, though!

Downsides? Well, I suppose it would have been nice to discover a new city. I'd be a little disappointed if UKPC stayed in the same place every year. But that's for the future. For now, I'm looking forward to going to Nottingham in October! :)

Already booked the hotel. I'm thinking of getting VIP tickets this year as well.

Tickets go on sale today, everyone! At midday UK time. Be ready if you want a VIP ticket, since last year those sold out in 26 minutes! The Standard/Supporter ones will last longer, though even they sold out many weeks in advance in 2018.

Adult Weekend tickets are £37 Standard, £47 Supporter and £97 VIP.

Remember, if you want a Supporter or VIP ticket, you need to put in your basket a standard ticket and the appropriate add-on. Just buying the add-on alone won't work!

    I'm also officially going! Yay! ^ ^

I went for a supporter ticket this year, after getting a regular ticket last year. Hotel booked as well, so I'm feeling rather hyped. :D

I have joined the merry throng of Supporter-level ponies! :)

Hotel will have to wait a little while, but as I'm not going for the ultra-close Goldsmith Street Premier Inn, it shouldn't be a big deal. :)

Incidentally, VIP tickets sold out in nineteen minutes this year! That's an academy record, seven minutes faster than in 2018 despite the considerably higher price. Impressive!

I'll have to book my ticket in a few weeks time as I need my money for a convention in Liverpool coming up.

Probably worth knowing that there are two England international football matches on (European Championships qualifiers) either side of UKPC weekend. Might make the city centre pubs pretty crowded and noisy. Times:

Friday 11th October, 7:45 pm BST: Czech Republic v England
Monday 14th October, 7:45pm BST: Bulgaria v England

Mentioned it in another thread but I really hope the Season Finale does not happen on the same weekend as UKPC.

Someone on Equestria Daily did some calculations and worked out the finale would probably be the week after, ie the 19th October. We can't be certain yet of course, but that would be ideal for me. Would mean UKPC would happen while FiM was still an ongoing series, plus would also let me watch the finale quietly, which is my preference.

Also in UKPC news, pre-orders for Britannia seapony plushies are now live. Cost £27 if pre-ordered, a discount from the £30 at-convention price. I saw one of these on the UKPC stand at Griffish Isles and she's pretty cute. :)
